Die Texterin/Zeichnerin Ai Yazawa erzählt in diesem Manga eine Geschichte, in der wieder viele Elemente vorkommen, die Mädchen interessant finden, das betrifft Gefühle wie Freundschaft, Liebe, Neid oder Ehrgeiz ebenso wie Äußerlichkeiten. Die Geschichte ist dabei unterhaltsam und ansprechend, die Zeichnungen sind zwar dem japanischen Stil verbunden, doch manches mutet europäisch an; es fällt auch auf, dass die Figuren bzw. die Gesichten zwar meistens charaktervoll gezeichnet sind, vereinzelt jedoch ins puppenhafte abgleiten. Trotzdem empfehlenswert. . Die Schülerin Yukari Hayasaka bekommt die Chance als Model zu arbeiten. Für das neue Label "Paradise Kiss" soll sie auf den Laufsteg. Yukari ahnt nicht, dass sich durch diesen Job ihr Leben völlig ändert.
