Nous sommes en 2017. Sept ans se sont écoulés depuis que le Nouvel Empire de Britannia a déclaré la guerre au Japon. Ce dernier, n’ayant pu résister aux robots de combat de l’Empire (appelés Nightmares), est devenu un territoire de l’Empire connu sous le nom de Zone 11. Lelouch, jeune étudiant qui se joue des nobles, se retrouve un jour impliqué dans le vol d’une arme chimique, qui s’avère être en réalité une fille. Malheureusement pour lui, les soldats de l’Armée Impériale le retrouvent, le prennent pour un terroriste et s’apprêtent à le tuer. C’est alors que la fille s’interpose. Avant de mourir, elle parvient à accorder à Lelouch un pouvoir le mettant dans un état second, à partir duquel il a la possibilité de donner un ordre à quiconque. Un pouvoir qui force l’obéissance absolue. Que se passera-t-il ? D’où vient cette fille ? Qu’adviendra-t-il de Lelouch ?
