Paradise Kiss nos narra la historia de una chica llamada Yukari, estudiante de secundaria. Vive estresada por su madre para que tenga éxito con sus notas. Un buen día, caminando por la calle se encuentra con Arashi, un tipo con unas pintas un tanto raras que le dice que su cara es perfecta. Sorprendida, Yukari intenta escapar pero cae en manos de Isabella, un travesti que la lleva inconsciente al Atelier, el lugar de trabajo del grupo. Cuando despierta, se encuentra con Miwako, otra chica, que junto a los dos anteriores, le explica a Yukari que son un grupo de moda de la escuela Yazawa Gakuin, y le piden que sea su modelo para el show que organiza la escuela ese año. Mientras Yukari rechaza la oferta y se va del local, se encuentra con el diseñador del grupo, George. Éste recoge la tarjeta de estudiante que Yukari se deja en el local, y bajo esa excusa, va a buscarla y le introduce en el mundo de la moda, el mundo de Paradise Kiss. Asombrada por el estilo y el carisma de George, poco a poco se relaciona con el ambiente y acaba aceptando la oferta.
