Ma l'uomo, ansioso di mettere subito le mani sulle ricchezze della signora, decide di sbarazzarsi dei concorrenti a quattro zampe. Una notte di temporale li rapisce, ma li perde per strada durante l'incontro poco piacevole con due cani randagi.
