Think critically when looking at style photos
Ask yourself: what you like and not like about the photos > color, accessories, texture, pattern, print, fit
Save all your photos and make a moodboard
Ask yourself which style are you generally drawn to
Refine your moodboard
Ask yourself: is this something I could see myself wearing? Is this something that reflect my personality? Is this something that fits into my lifestyle?
Go shopping
Choose the five pieces on your moodboard that appear the most often and you think are vital to your style
Practise styling your items
Spend 10-20 mins everyday to practise styling
Spend more time shopping (does not mean shop more.)
Be patient and try on many clothes to give yourself time to get the perfect item
For two weeks track all the clothes you wear
You can do this by: moving the clothes you've worn to a clothing rack, or turn around the hangers on all the items you have worn
Make a style analysis
Ask yourself: what do they have in common? What's the color scheme, fit and comfort level?
Now it's time to find inspiration
Sources: tumblr, pinterest, old photos of your outfits, magazines, music videos, fashion shows, series etc
Try to seperate the persona and the actual outfit
Ask yourself, is this good fashion and would you be comfortable wearing it?
Make an account on Instagram where you follow fashion accounts and style inspo
Not only is this good for getting more inspo but you can also use this account to document your style journey
If you realise you have many different styles, you can combine them, which is ideal
Write down your first thoughts
Write up colors you like, items that fit your body type and your need: practical? Warm? Fancy? Etc
Ease yourself into your new style
Example: want to get used to high heels, start slow with boots then work yourself up to a higher heel
