Pienso que es un acierto de Akal recoger en su colección de clásicos latinos las Fábulas y la Astronomía de Higino. Y digo que es un acierto porque no siempre despiertan interés entre los estudiosos y entre los editores obras que la tradición ha considerado con frecuencia como de segunda fila. Yes un acierto por dos razones concretas. En primer lugar, porque en una colección han de entrar también las obras consideradas menores desde un punto de vista literario. es más, es la inclusión de obras menores la que da a una colección auténtico valor de colección. si no encontramos este tipo de obras en las colecciones es muy posible que no las encontremos en ediciones o traducciones aisladas. En segundo lugar, porque estas obras consideradas como menores en la historia de la literatura tienen siempre, sin embargo y por sí mismas, valores que las hacen merecedoras de ser leídas y conocidas. verdad es que obras como las Fábulas y la Astronomía de Higino no llegan a la altura literaria de las grandes obras de la época augústea, como la Eneida de Virgilio o las Odas de Horacio. pero tienen otros valores que las han hecho merecedores de sobrevivir a lo largo de siglos y valores que encuadran perfectamente, y al mismo tiempo explican, la política cultural y el ambiente de la época de Augusto.
