Po příchodu na Karasuno však Hinata zjistí, že Kageyama také odešel na Karasuno. Zpočátku si nerozumějí, ale nakonec vytvoří podivnou kombinaci a bojují spolu s ostatními členy volejbalového klubu. Karasuno se při tréninkovém zápase znovu setkává s bývalou konkurenční školou, Nekomskou střední, a znovu se rozhoří jejich školní rivalita.
