Peaceful antifa action ideas
With right and antidemocratic ideologies rising everywhere you look, it often feels like there is nothing you can do to stop those that spread hate and violence. Here is some inspiration of simple things you can do, anywhere in the world, to take antifascist action (all while being non-militant, democratic and clever about it). It is important to share these potential courses of action because while everyone always seems to tell you to step up for those that are discriminated etc., no one ever tells you how. So, here are some simple activities I have collected: (Remember: being anti-fascist is not the same as being part of the extreme left. People that believe this have fallen for propaganda aiming to polarise the public, taking away the option for people to simply stand on middle-ground. Being anti-fascist simply means to stand up for those in need and stopping the rise of a government that suppresses the voice of ALL people. Anti-fascism is for EVERYONE.)

Other

Organise gatherings
Find others that think like you and keep contact

Aid democratic processes
Sign petitions, aid rallies

Write to the imprisoned
Write letters to those that have been wrongfully imprisoned by militant regiments.

Support local communities
Fundraising, food supplying and helping with physical repairs of e.g. local refugee homes

Clean the streets
Figuratively „clean the streets“ by removing neonazi paroles, symbols and posters from the streets. Literally cleaning the streets from litter is also appreciated, but that’s off topic.
Educate yourself
Learn about your own biases, how to counter act them, current political and social events and the history of both fascism and antifascism. Learn what neonazi symbols to look out for.
Report incidents
Fascists are cowards - they often only act when their anonymity is ensured, and are scared of being exposed. Report incidents you witness to higher-ups and get them in trouble. Fascists need to realise that there are consequences to their actions, so we need to ensure they get them.

Ban their accounts
Report social media accounts of hateful influencers. The challenge is to try and get 100 fascist accounts banned, are you in?

Protect and support potential victims
Place yourself close to potential victims in public.

Show your stance
Wear antifa merch, pins, and flags to show solidarity and affiliation. Show fascists that resistance exists and give hope to those that feel left alone in the fight against discrimination.

Go on demos
This one might be obvious, but I’ll still add it. Demonstrating is a tool democracy gave us exactly for this cause. Show them that we are not few. The fascists need to stop feeling invincible, put pressure on them! The streets are ours, and we will claim them. Be loud, be sharp-tongued, be colourful.
Participate in fundraising activities
Stay in conversation
Keep up communication between the right and the rest of us to „rehabilitate“ those that have started to drift off to the right and to understand the root issues society is facing.
