Por lo tanto, Sakura adquiere habilidades especiales para así enfrentarse a los poderes mágicos de cada carta y lograr capturarlas y sellarlas. Kero se vuelve el guía y mentor de Sakura durante la búsqueda, mientras que su mejor amiga, Tomoyo Daidōji, le confecciona gran variedades de trajes, ya que según ella «debe llevar una ropa especial para una ocasión especial». Además, Tomoyo suele hacer grabaciones de las batallas de Sakura.

Digimon Adventure 02: El regreso de Diaboromon

In this movie, that takes place three months after MaloMyotismon's defeat, the DigiDestined go up against Diaboromon again. Tai and Matt head back to the Internet to deal with him with Omnimon, while the younger Chosen Children go to deal with the rampage of a swarm of Kuramon (Diaboromon's Fresh form). With the help of Angemon and Angewomon (with T.K. and Kari), Omnimon was able to destroy Diaboromon again, but it turned out to be a trap, as his destruction allowed many more Kuramon to go to the Real World. Things go out of control when the Kuramon in the Real World merge to create a Mega level called Armageddemon, an alternate Mega in Diaboromon's evolutionary line. It is so powerful that neither Omnimon nor Imperialdramon were able to defeat it on their own.

Tras vencer Masaru a Kokatorimon, él y su reciente amigo Agumon, son detenidos y llevados al cuartel de DATS. Esta organización tiene como misión principal la de bloquear la acción de cualquier digimon que aparezca en el mundo real de la manera más silenciosa, llevándolos de vuelta al mundo digital de donde provienen y borrando las memorias de los ciudadanos que han llegado a ver a uno de estos seres. Por tanto, la existencia de los digimon sólo es conocida por los miembros de DATS, de la que Masaru termina formando parte.

Digimon Frontier

Digimon Frontier es la cuarta serie de animación basada en el mundo Digimon. Ésta narra unos acontecimientos completamente independientes de lo ocurrido en las anteriores series de Digimon. Fue la que sucedió a Digimon Tamers al finalizar. En esta serie los niños son "poseídos" por los Digispirts/Espíritus Digitales con lo que los mismos Niños Elegidos pueden Digievolucionar en los Guerreros Legendarios (Digimons). Los espíritus digitales fueron creados por los antiguos guerreros y están escondidos por todo el digimundo. Se diferencian dos tipos: los Espíritus Digitales de tipo Humano y los Espíritus Digitales de tipo Bestia/Animal; los de tipo Humano permiten una Digievolución a un Digimon de forma humanoide, mientras que los de tipo Bestia/Animal permiten Digievolucionar a una forma en la que se aprecian las partes de diferentes animales.

Digimon Tamers toma lugar en una continuidad diferente a la de su predecesora (Digimon Adventure 02), un mundo parecido al nuestro donde los Digimon son una franquicia de juguetes y una serie de TV. Un grupo de niños de 10 años, Takato, Jenrya y Ruki, se alían con sus propios Digimon, para poder detener a los Digimon Salvajes que intentan invadir el Mundo Real, y detener a una sombría organización del gobierno, que también va contra los Salvajes, aunque con propósitos diferentes.
