None of the pictures are mine. This is a shower routine that includes only the basics and is thought for those who struggle to shower due to mental health or similar. It's also useful for when you're in a hurry and don't have much time to shower or you just don't feel like it 🫶🏻. If you're in a rush, just skip to

Prepare your space, make it comfortable for you. Take your time and breath.
Put on some music you like
Do you have any comfort artist? Now it's time to listen to their songs on a loop.
Choose the towels you're gonna use.
Choose your favorite ones! Colorful, comfortable texture... Choose as many as you want.
Adjust the temperature.
Feeling cold or sweating can make it x10 more difficult. Make sure you feel fine while you take your clothes off.
Prepare the shampoo, shower gel and everything you're gonna use.
Put it somewhere easily reachable from your shower. Choose gels with scents or something fun to add.
Let's take the first step!
Adjust the water temperature
If it's freezing or burning you, your brain will reject it. Just choose the temperature you're most comfortable with! It doesn't need to run over your body yet, just your fingers.
Put up your hair
Doesn't matter if you're planning on washing it or not, this way you trick your brain into thinking you won't and showering can start to feel like a smaller task bc "you're just washing your body".
You're already here. You can do this, I know it! Run the water over your body
Don't even think about it, don't give you time to think. Just do it quickly. You can do it gradually too it that feels like too much.
Step into the shower
I know this can feel like the hugest step, so take your time. Think about other positive things. Don't think about turning on the water, just step in and stand there a couple of minutes listening to the music.
Take your clothes off
(If you haven't done so already). Just throw your clothes to the floor, we'll take care of them later.
